Ok, so I haven’t finished the blanket for my sister yet, but who says you can only have 1 knitting project? 🙂 I’ve always wanted to learn to knit socks and since hubby and the kids got me an Amazon gift card for Mother’s Day I decided to buy the circular needle I needed to learn to do magic loop from the toe up. I did the cast on today and now I need to watch the YouTube video again to learn how to start working it, this might be a good project to take camping!

Good luck with your new venture in using circular needles toe up sock making. Be sure to let me know how it goes. I haven’t tried it yet, but I do love making top down on 5 dpns. That is how I was shown when I was first learning and now that I know it pretty well, it’s hard to start all over, but I am going to try it your way.
I love knitting toe up, two at a time, magic loop. The LYS owner, who has now closed her shop, would only teach DPN sock knitting but since I wanted to do two at a time I turned to the internet. I found VeryPinkKnit and KnitFreedom and learned with ease. I usualy do Judy’s Magic Cat on and just learned the Fish Lips Kiss heel, all from videos online. Have fun.
I can’t wait to see more of how that yarn knits up!
